Tips from Lessons Learned / Mrs Cindie Trieber

Mrs Cindie Trieber
Pastor's Wife
North Valley Baptist Church
Santa Clara, CA

AFTER OVER FOUR DECADES OF SERVING our Lord here at the North Valley Baptist Church in Santa Clara, I have come to learn a few things. No, I am not saying I have arrived or that I have nothing left to learn. But, through the years of our ministry, I have learned many a lesson and yes, sometimes, the hard way. I hope they are a blessing and help to you as you serve our Lord.

·         No lady ever becomes all that she can be until she has a problem that she can share with God alone.

·         Troubles and trials are as necessary to our spiritual welfare,  as rain and sunshine are necessary to life. “Yet man is born unto trouble as the sparks fly upward. “ ( Job 5:7)

·         God’s grace can meet every need we have, and His grace is always sufficient for every situation.

·         See yourself through the eyes of God.

·         Friends can make you or break you. Show me your friends, and I will show you your future.

·         This modern world is full of sensual, sloppy-looking people. Please help us bring some class and dignity back to our churches and homes.  We have become a casual society in both of these institutions.

·         My life will be an example and a story for someone else to tell to others one day.

·         We all have a race to run! Don’t quit!

·         Guard your spirit- your prevailing attitude.

·         Be self-motivated. Don’t depend on someone else to motivate you. Ladies conferences are great, but you don’t need to go to every one there is. Stay home and be what you need to be for your husband and children. Seek the counsel and advice from a Titus 2 woman.

·         Married children still need you! While you want to be sure not to smother, you can still mother.

·         You will go through seasons of life. “ to everything there is a season” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

·         You will suffer from bouts of loneliness

·         God made you an original. Don’t try to be someone else. It doesn’t work!

·         A holy life is the result of the inward Christ.

·         Completely surrender your will to the Lord.

·         Make a big deal over your husband’s, your children and other people’s birthday! Be a “giver” and Not a “taker’!

·         Keep your husband and your children first.

·         Take an active part in the education of your children. Don’t sigh and complain about activities, homework, and sporting events. It goes so very quickly. Do not “endure” but, rather, “enjoy”!

·         Devotions are necessary for the Christian family, even if they are not always enjoyed all the time. Find something that works for your family.

·         Don’t forget what it is like to be a kid.

·         Be in style! Modesty is always in, but frumpy is not.

·         Make your home a haven.

·         Exercise; watch your weight and diet.

·         Life is not a dress rehearsal; this is the show.

Have a wonderful year in 2018 and may God bless you and use you for His glory.
