The Most Important Bible Truths

I have lived in the St. Louis area for the past 45 years, I have attended the same Church all those years and I taught in public school for 30 years. I have 3 children and 12 grandchildren. As I prayed about this devotion, I decided, if I had only one devotion I wanted all my children to have, this would be it.

What are the most important Bible Truths that everyone should follow??? I could say tithing because I KNOW it works. I could say serving the Lord because I know that works too, God always multiplies the returns in both these areas. I could say attending Church. Jesus gave His life for the Church and desires us to faithfully attend. I could say train up your children in the way they should go and that is extremely important.

BUT the Bible says the MOST important commandments are in Matthew 22:36-40. A lawyer asked Jesus, "Master, which is the GREAT commandment in the Law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." "This is the first and great commandment. "And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

LOVE is the greatest of all commandments. If you are feeling down then LOVE. Love when you are busy. Love the Lord with all thy heart. This is where our daily battle occurs. Without spending time with Him, it cannot be done. The old children's song says "Read your Bible, Pray every day, and you'll grow, grow, grow."  This song is not just for children. IT WORKS!!!

Love your neighbor as yourself. If you love them you will witness to them. Heaven is REAL but Hell is real TOO. Loving your neighbor requires humility and God loves humility. Simply said "Put others first. "Others Lord yes others let this my motto be. Let me live for others so I might live like Thee."

This last part about LOVE I wish I could plaster on every wall of my children and grandchildren's homes. This is the Most important truth about LOVE from the Bible. JESUS LOVES YOU AND ME. He loves me when I don't even love myself. He died for me, a sinner, that I might have everlasting life. He gave His life for me. He loves me when I am depressed and when I am TOO busy and when I am grouchy. He loves me when I am not the best Mom or wife or even Christian. Jesus loves you and me. This is the most amazing Truth found in the Bible. Jesus loves me in spite of me being me.

One day I was really down. You might say I was depressed and yes we can get depressed. I looked up and said Lord, I need you to tell me You love me. I picked up my Bible because that is where He talks to me and read without looking it up Jeremiah 31;3 The Lord ------saying "I have loved thee with an everlasting Love". In 2018 let us LOVE. Sing "O how He loves you and me."
